Avon Tyrrell - 12 September 2016

All the children in Year 6 have had a fabulous start to their Avon Tyrrell adventure.  We have been catapult building, doing archery and lots of exploring and running around in the fresh air.  The boys have had a lot of entanglement with duvets and covers!  We've tucked in to pasta, salad and a roast dinner followed by delicious creamy ice cream.  Everyone is showered and tucked up in bed now and it's only 10 pm!  We are eagerly waiting for tomorrow's activities which include canoeing and mountain biking.

Day 2 - We have canoed, climbed and learnt some amazing bushcraft skills.  We have also done a night walk and made tea from scots pine needles!  Today we studied bushcraft where we learnt where to find the best sticks to build a fire. Then we used them to boil water to make delicious hot chocolate and cook the doughnuts that we made. They were yummy! Later on we worked together as a team to overcome problems on the 'low ropes' and we were BRILLIANT! Our day ended with an exciting night walk where we learnt interesting facts about the main house and the surrounding areas. We are all tucked up in bed now as we are all tired out from our adventures.
